Hanson, “Give A Little”

Since it’s Taylor Hanson’s 28th birthday, I thought it would be appropriate to post the video for their new single off of Shout It Out. My love for Hanson has been going strong for more than a decade, and I remember exactly where I was the first time I heard “MMMBop” (in the car with my friend, on the way to an A’s game). 

You have to give a band like this much respect for walking away from their major label to produce music the way they always intended. Their current sound is quite a departure from those bubblegum pop days, and probably better. I bet if you listened to this song, you’d be pleasantly surprised by the maturity and progression.
