This Century, “Sound of Fire”

As of midnight last night, this new single became available for purchase on iTunes, and is also streaming on the band’s PureVolume page. I’ve been waiting a long time to be able to own this track, and it was more than worth the wait.

It’s an alt pop song reminiscent of what made music in the 1990s worth listening to. Joel Kanitz never fails to impress with his smooth vocals, and the drums, piano and guitar add wonderful layers. I have a feeling these guys — who are not only talented, but genuinely sweet to all of their fans — are about to blow up this year. In fact, Alternative Press magazine added them to their list of 100 Bands You Need To Know for 2011. This Century is currently on tour with Good Charlotte. I could go on for days (no, I really could) about this band, but I’ll end this with another burst of good news: This Century will release their debut album, Sound Of Fire, on April 19.
