Happy New Year, my dear friends. I’ve been traveling through a handful of states for the first five days of the year, so I haven’t been in touch. Sorry about that, but friend duty called (i.e. a buddy got married).

Since the clock struck 12 in Amarillo — yes, I was forced to bring in 2010 in Amarillo — I’ve had this song, “New Year” by Death Cab for Cutie, on the brain. I figured it would be a nice treat to show you an earlier version of them, since most of you who are new to Death Cab have probably only heard their last two albums, Plans and Narrow Stairs. You can tell that this is a throwback video, because Craig Kilborn hasn’t been on the air for several years.
