Foo Fighters, “Walking After You”

How about we do Throwback Sunday? The Foo Fighters had a lot of success in the 1990s for songs “My Hero” and “Everlong” and “Monkey Wrench”. If you talk about Foo Fighters, most people don’t remember this track, much less the video for it. I only saw it on MTV a total of three times before it was long gone.

This song was solely written and recorded by lead singer Dave Grohl (although, there is another version with the entire band on the X-Files soundtrack). It’s a depressing song, but still very pretty. In the lyrics, Grohl is saying what most of us have thought after a huge breakup — we just can’t imagine living without that person. Beautiful song and greatly under-appreciated.
