Pumpkin playlist

I realize that Halloween is on Sunday, but I wanted you all to be prepared for any weekend party plans, so I’m posting this tonight. Anybody knows that music can make or break a party, and when costumes are involved, sometimes the tunes can get a little hokey. So, I decided to make a playlist this year to complement your Halloween festivities. Sorry, you’re not going to find “Monster Mash” on here.

Whether you take your iPod to a friend’s house, or maybe just play it in the car on your way to some fun, I think it’ll put you in the spirit for great times.

In no particular order (I’m a big fan of shuffling playlists. Do it with this.):

  • Sea Wolf, “Leaves In The River”
  • Austin Gibbs, “Creepshow”
  • Band of Horses, “Is There A Ghost”
  • Tokyo Police Club, “Frankenstein”
  • Alkaline Trio, “Draculina”
  • Tegan and Sara, “Walking With A Ghost” (You could substitute this one with The White Stripes’ cover, if you’d like)
  • OK Go, “Oh Lately It’s So Quiet”
  • The Black Ghosts, “Full Moon”
  • Modest Mouse, “Bury With Me It”
  • The Black Keys, “Howlin’ For You”
  • Blue Foundation, “Eyes on Fire”
  • Smashing Pumpkins, “We Only Come Out At Night”
  • Mirah, “The Garden”
  • The Doors, “People Are Strange”
  • Michael Jackson, “Thriller” (This selection was to be expected.)
  • Sugar Ray, “Ghost In You” (Psychedelic Furs cover. Sorry, I love it.)
  • M83, “Graveyard Girl”
  • Broken Bells, “The Ghost Inside”
  • Freelance Whales, “Ghosting”
  • The Limousines, “Dancing At Her Funeral”
  • Ra Ra Riot, “Ghost Under Rocks”
  • Stars, “Death To Death”
  • Taking Back Sunday, “Sink Into Me”
  • Tegan and Sara, “I Hear Noises”
  • White Lies, “Death”
  • Yeah Yeah Yeahs, “Heads Will Roll”
  • Radiohead, “Bodysnatchers”
  • The Arctic Monkeys, “Perhaps Vampire Is A Bit Strong, But…”

Most importantly, everyone: Have a SAFE Halloween weekend.
