Heather Nova, “Paper Cup” (Live)

This is my all-time favorite song. It came out in the ’90s, on the third studio album from Nova (which also had hit singles “London Rain (Nothing Heals Me Like You Do)” and “Heart And Shoulder”). I had this album on a cassette tape, and I played that thing out and had to buy a new one. All the songs are incredibly moving, but this song in particular spoke to me. It was the first time in my life that I could say I found a favorite song — one to stand above the rest.

I hope you all enjoy it as much as I do. I think the video of her live adds a specialness to it.
