Tell me what you dream while you are fast asleep. Could it be of me?

Tell me what you dream while you are fast asleep. Could it be of me?
The Trophy Fire, “Modern Hearts”
I’m taking a moment out of my drinking party to give some local love to this San Francisco-based band.
Here’s hoping that you all are having a great weekend, lovers.
You desired my attention, but denied my affections.

Bon Iver, “Holocene”
Two things: 1) Everything that Bon Iver does is magic. 2) This guy is up for a few Grammys, including Song of the Year for this track.
Happy Monday, lovers. I hope this makes the start of your week a little better.
I wander through these streets, a drifter no one sees, collecting memories of you and me.
Phantom Planet, “Winter Wonderland”
Let’s kick off the holiday season with a remake of a classic. I’m sure I posted this song last year, but Phantom Planet’s version is one of my all-time favorite holiday tunes. And, that’s saying a lot, considering my Christmas music collection is pretty extensive (what can I say? I’m a sucker for jingle bells or anything about snow).
I hope this puts you in the spirit. Make some hot cocoa, curl up by the fire and play this song.
And they all want you to change.

The Maine, “Some Days”
As I gorge on yams (instead of turkey) and all the fixin’s, I like to ask myself what I’m thankful for. As cheesy as it sounds, I am so thankful to have this band in my life. I am never disappointed by what they do, and have enjoyed hearing their sound mature over the years.
I had the pleasure of watching The Maine perform this song live on Nov. 20 in San Francisco for the first stop on their Pioneer tour. Pioneer, the new album (due out Dec. 6; click here to pre-order a copy), is going to be worth adding to your music collection. If you’ve checked out The Maine in previous years and maybe weren’t sold, I urge you to try again.
Happy Thanksgiving, lovers!
I set a trap for you, but I’m the one who’s all caught up.

The Features, “From Now On”
In honor of all the Twilight madness, I thought I would post a song from the Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Pt. 1 soundtrack.
The Features, an indie band from Tennessee, have been making music since 1994, with limited success in their homeland. I was pleasantly surprised to see one of their songs on the soundtrack list because I didn’t think they would even be on the radar for something of this magnitude. But, hey, if more people become exposed, then they’ll be able to make great music for years to come.
This song has an upbeat tempo with a really fun guitar riff. If you watch the film, then you’ll hear it during a string of sweet scenes that I don’t want to tell you about in case you plan on watching it one day (which, you should, but that’s a little off-topic).
Turn it up and have fun with this one, lovers.
